Flow, Flex and Fly
This workshop is divided primarily into 2 parts. The first half is a flow practice combining standing poses, twists backbends, hip openers, splits with options to invert. Carol will offer lots of variations to suit people’s varying levels. In the second half we will slow down some of the work on backbends and inversions to look at them biomechanically, team up with partners to move deeper into the poses and enjoy a bit of fun with other yogis.
This is a mixed level workshop. Not suitable for complete beginners, but anyone practising regularly over 6 months is welcome to attend and everyone will be encourage to work to their individual level and offered variations.
Myo-Fascial Release workshop
1.30 p.m. – 4.00 p.m.
This workshop flosses the fascia from head to foot using yoga therapy balls. It is anatomically based and explores tension patterns in relation to the stress/trauma response in the body, dysfunctional postural patterns and specific neuro-muscular and structural issues relative to the group like prolapsed disc, hip hike, forward head position etc. It gives students tools to help create balance in the body, whether that be to help deepen asana practice, release tension and stress in the body or work in conjunction with other therapy work like physio or physical therapy.
Open to all levels, including complete beginners.
