300 hr Yoga Teacher Training 2019

We have created a flexible system where 6 x CPD trainings or core modules  are weaved into a 300 hr Advanced yoga training with additional 2 day weekend modules. The 300 hr training is for teachers who already have a 200 hr training or equivalent. The core modules can be taken separately as CPD trainings. These models are also open to students but we recommend that you take a full 200 hr training before you teach the material from them.

  • Advanced Anatomy – Synergy of Asana, Alignment, Adjustments.
  • Neuro-muscular Integration Yoga CPD- Compensation patterns and muscular imbalances in relation to myofascial trains.
  • Neuro-fascial Integration Yoga CPD – The neuro-fascial system, trauma response and autoimmune.
  • Yin Yoga Training CPD – with Josh Summers
  • Tantric Heart Training –  a journey through the chakras.
  • Yoga and Wellness CPD – this 4 day CPD addresses the 7 systems of the body in relation to illness – with Medha Hernandez

These weekends will cover the following :

  • Developing your Hatha and Vinyasa asana practice – Hatha technique style workshops and “Progressive Vinyasa” – a series of vinyasa threads, based on the sequences of “Loops, binds and waves”.
  • Developing teaching skills. Learning how to teach the threads, developing workshops and a ‘video project’.
  • Diving deeper into Patanjalis sutras and comparatively exploring the Radiance Sutras (a translation of the Vijnana Bhairava Tantra). For more details, please see under ‘curriculum’ below.
  • Learn how to teach “Trauma-Sensitive yoga’ and learn the science and psychology of trauma in the body and mind. .Students have the option of taking the CPD trainings separately or doing the whole 300 hr training in one go where the 4 day CPD trainings are offered at a reduced price. It is also possible to take the 3 anatomy trainings together (120 hrs)  if you wish to train as a “Structural Integration and functional movement” teacher.

8th – 11th March 2019 @ The Yoga Shala, Gort, Co. Galway, Ireland

This training offers an in-depth study of Advanced Yoga Anatomy in relation to asana, alignment and adjustments. It is suitable for teachers who would like to broaden their knowledge of the body and how it works in relation to yoga. It is also suitable for yoga students who wish to deepen their knowledge of yoga. For non-teachers, we recommend that you take a 200 hr training before teaching these methods to others.

Some of the topics of this particular 4 day training encompass subjects already taught on the 200 hr training, but this training offers a more comprehensive exploration and prepares students better for the Neuro-Muscular and Neuro-Fascial Integration CPD trainings. We take a closer look at muscles in relation to biomechanics and dual actions (reciprocal inhibition) and develop this foundation to a broader, global perspective of the body in relation to asana and the body where synergistic and referral patterns create deeper understanding.

The Yoga Shala in in a small town on the west of Ireland called Gort. It lies between Galway, Clare and Limerick and is close to Shannon airport for international students. One of the wonderful things about Gort (besides the Gallery cafe…) is that is lies at the edge of the Burren, one of the most incredible places on the planet, famous for its flowers and fauna.

For people travelling, there are a few accommodation options.

  • The Beautiful Art Gallery Apartment  This lovely apartment is above The Gallery Cafe just across from the Yoga Shala. The cafe is well worth a visit open Wed- Sunday.
  • O Sullivan’s Hotel is another option in the main square in Gort
  • There is also a hotel in the town called “The Lady Gregory” this is a very traditional Irish hotel.  Offering 87 ensuite comfortable bedrooms.  There is a very nice restaurant and also a Spa & Pool.  Room rate varies depending on the time of year and length of stay.
  • There is also Air BnB options in or close to the town. Air BnB offer private rooms in homes or entire houses that could be shared. Kim, the Green Lotus angel, can help group people together for Air BnB. Just let us know you are interested in this option and we can help advise.
  • There is also the option of staying in Galway city. Its a bit of a journey, but its a great place then to check out. If you are flying in for one of the trainings, we will do out best to hook you up with local carpooling to the shala in the morning and back. We imagine local students won’t mind helping out with lifts, once the pickup is not too much off the main road.

We grow from feedback and we wish to support you, your journey and your training is any way we can. We believe that the guidelines for making complaints are outlined below will create a sense of safety in the group for both teachers and students, and help you complete the TTC successfully.

How to make a complaint

1) Speak to Carol Murphy or other trainer if appropriate and try to resolve the complaint informally on the day. Your trainer will then suggest that you either discuss the complaint at the nearest break, after class or possibly call a group circle about it if s/he thinks that this complaint effects the group and if you are also willing to discuss it with the class. We anticipate that any conflict should be able to be resolved at this stage; however in the unlikely event that it is not, we will arrange another discussion with you or you can try to resolve the issue by following stage two.

2)  Outline the details of your complaint by email and send it who will investigate the complaint. The complaint will be reviewed and Green Lotus Yoga.. You will receive an email which will outline the main elements of your complaint and may ask you to address some issues in more detail. The details of the complaint may have to be teased out over more than one email. During this time, Green Lotus Yoga may suggest a phone call to speed matters up. The final response from Green Lotus will include the following information:

  • A decision about how the complaint will be addressed.
  • The reason for the decision
  • Any other action that may be taken in light of the complaint.
  • If it is not possible to provide a full answer to your complaint within 30 working days, the letter will outline reasons why and give a date by which a full answer is expected.

3) If you are not satisfied with the final response to your complaint then outline the reasons for your dissatisfaction by letter. Email this to Yoga Alliance UK (if the teachers are Yoga Alliance UK accredited).
