Neuro-Muscular Integration Yoga 2019

This training explores the neuro-fascial system of the body and the connections between fascia and the nervous system in relation to releasing deep held tension in the body. Neurofascial imbalances relating to the deepest layers of fascia in the body are often the source of muscles imbalances and postural compensation patterns. 

You will  explore fascial trains, in relation to movement, asana and postural dysfunctions. Asana programmes are given to work with compensation patterns such as fasciitis, dropped arches, varus and valgus knee, pronation distortion syndrome, lateral pelvic tilt, bursitis, disc issues, frozen shoulder, scoliosis etc. These yoga programmes are designed to compliment the work of medical professionals and aim to give teachers a bigger bag of tools to work with.

The total fee for the training is €520.
Discount for GLY teachers is €400.

The deposit is €200 euros and can be paid by bank transfer.

This deposit is non- refundable.

Final payment will be due 4 weeks before the start of the course.

 

The Yoga Shala in in a small town on the west of Ireland called Gort. It lies between Galway, Clare and Limerick and is close to Shannon airport for international students. One of the wonderful things about Gort (besides the Gallery cafe…) is that is lies at the edge of the Burren, one of the most incredible places on the planet, famous for its flowers and fauna. 

For people travelling, there are a few accommodation options. 

  • The Beautiful Art Gallery Apartment  This lovely apartment is above The Gallery Cafe just across from the Yoga Shala. The cafe is well worth a visit open Wed- Sunday. 
  • O Sullivan’s Hotel is another option in the main square in Gort
  • There is also a hotel in the town called “The Lady Gregory” this is a very traditional Irish hotel.  Offering 87 ensuite comfortable bedrooms.  There is a very nice restaurant and also a Spa & Pool.  Room rate varies depending on the time of year and length of stay.
  • There is also Air BnB options in or close to the town. Air BnB offer private rooms in homes or entire houses that could be shared. Kim, the Green Lotus angel, can help group people together for Air BnB. Just let us know you are interested in this option and we can help advise.  
  • There is also the option of staying in Galway city. Its a bit of a journey, but its a great place then to check out. If you are flying in for one of the trainings, we will do out best to hook you up with local carpooling to the shala in the morning and back. We imagine local students won’t mind helping out with lifts, once the pickup is not too much off the main road. 

Traveling to Gort, Co Galway

To look at various ways to get around Ireland use ‘Get there‘  This is a great, easy to use, website that will help you see the different travel routes and options from any area in Ireland.  It also shows you all the time tables for the various routes.

Bus Ereann is the nation bus company 

Irish Rail is the national rail service

Galway City to Gort 

There is a regular bus service running from Galway, Eyre Square Bus station to Gort.  It takes 40 minutes.  So if you decide to stay in Galway City you could commute to your training.

By Air 

There are 3 main airports in Ireland that would offer International services from most destinations. Dublin Airport would be the largest and has a more regular international service than Shannon or Cork.

Shannon Airport – This is the closest Airport to Gort.  It has a very good direct bus service that will take approximately 1 hour.  

Dublin Airport – 3.5hrs away from Gort.  With the option of bus or train links.  Trains are from Hueston Station in the centre of Dublin City. They operate a direct service to Gort with a journey time of 3 hours.

Cork Airport – the furthest from Gort.  It does however run a good bus service but would take 4 hours

Car Hire or Taxi

If you do not wish to travel independently then you could consider either renting a car or hiring a private taxi.  Where possible we would see if others were arriving around the same time and look at car pooling or sharing a taxi to help with the cost.  Prices would vary depending on your pick up location.  

By Road

There is a good road network across Ireland. Gort would be close to Galway, which is linked to motorways.  Google maps offers the best route service to Gort
