A fusion of Restorative yoga. Yin yoga, Gentle Mobility, Yoga Nidra, Subtle anatomy, neuroscience relating to the stress and trauma response, pranayama and meditation.

This training is suitable for students who wish to explore Restorative Yoga or teachers who wish to learn Restorative Yoga, Yoga Nidra, Mudras, Subtle Anatomy and more in the comfort of their own home. The training will be held live on Zoom where students have the oppertunity to ask questions and receive feedback. Upon completion of the training, you will have access to the GLY Members Online Training Platform, where you can re-watch the live lectures whenever you like. Teachers who complete this CPD can use the 50 hours towards CE credits and towards building up towards 300 hr GLY accreditation.

The science and benefits of pranayama
The science of neuroplasticity in relation to yoga, meditation and pain relief
Balancing the the nervous system in relation to the trauma response
The biology of trauma and how it effects the nervous system, endocrine system, digestive system and immune system
How the fight flight response effects muscular tone.
Energetic physiology : chakras, vayus. doshas and gunas.
The art of holding space
Restorative poses and sequencing
Yin Yoga poses and sequencing
How and when to use props
Somatic breathwork meditation
Yoga Nidra – using scripted processes
Activating the Vagus Nerve and dispelling tension through sound and chant.

This training is suitable for qualified yoga teachers, who wish to teach restorative yoga and integrate the other aspects of the curriculum into their teachings. It is also suitable for experienced students who want to build up their teacher training hours but are not ready to complete their 200 hr foundation training.
Teachers who complete this CPD can use the 40 hours towards CE credits and towards building up towards 300 hr GLY accreditation.
As restorative yoga uses props, you will need to create your own home studio for the training.
- 1 x yoga mat
- 2 bricks (Please note bricks are brick shaped; whereas blocks are flatter and rectangular, more like an A4 sheet)
- 1 bolster (you can substitute with cushions but we recommend not)
- 1 x yoga strap
- 1 or 2 Blankets
- Manual PDF is supplied.

If you are new to the Sutras, we recommend Teaching Yoga beyond the Poses as a good introduction. This book also offers idea of how to integrate themes into the classroom.
