Hello, my name is Carol Murphy, and I am the founder and lead trainer of Green Lotus Yoga. I have been exploring and teaching the many facets of yoga for over 28 years, and since 2006 I have been training yoga teachers both in Ireland and internationally. To date, I have guided more than 1,000 teachers through their 200-hour and 300-hour trainings across Ireland, Spain, Morocco, India, South Africa, the U.S., and the U.K.

My journey began with Iyengar and Ashtanga Yoga, which I taught full-time for the first decade of my career. From there, I developed my own approach to vinyasa, blending alignment, creativity, and flow — a practice that still forms a central part of my teaching today. Alongside this, my focus has expanded into the more subtle and therapeutic dimensions of yoga.

I completed the 800-hour IAYT Yoga Therapy training with Soul of Yoga in the U.S., where I deepened my studies in Ayurveda, Somatics, Trauma-Sensitive Yoga for Mental Health, Yoga for Addiction, iRest for PTSD, Subtle Anatomy, Pranayama, and Meditation. I have also trained in Yin Yoga with Josh Summers (and co-led trainings with him), studied TCM and Women’s Health with Yoga Medicine, and explored Tantra and Kundalini Trance Dance. In addition, I am a trained Neuromuscular Therapist and FRC® Mobility Specialist, weaving fascial-based anatomy and functional mobility into my yoga therapy work.

I am passionate about building a strong community of yoga educators who share the vision of offering high-quality, embodied yoga education. For me, it’s not just about individual trainings — it’s about creating a supportive network where teachers feel resourced, inspired, and connected. Through collaboration, mentorship, and shared wisdom, we can elevate the standards of yoga education while keeping the heart of the practice alive. This community is about weaving together diverse voices and approaches, united by a commitment to integrity, embodiment, and ongoing learning.
