Hello! My name is Carol Murphy. I started Green Lotus Yoga teacher training school in 2007. Since then I have graduated over 500 teachers from my training throughout Ireland and abroad. I have also travelled with my work, teaching in London, California, India, South Africa, Morocco and Spain and I teach students from all over the world on my intensive trainings. Training teachers has been my main work focus and project for the last 13 years. Every year the TTCs improve and grow with new developments and insights. 3 years ago, I expanded my offerings to include 300 hr trainings.
My background is in Iyengar, Ashtanga and Vinyasa. I like to teach Vinyasa stye yoga as mindful, strengthening, breath-centred, slow, deep, breath centred movement, weaving together various forms and threads to keep the practice creative and alive. Even though I feel my spiritual roots are grounded in the depths of India spirituality, I love the western alignment-based approach of yoga asana and have also explored western styles of self-development that I believe have also helped me to grow and shine.
I am a qualified Neuro-muscular physical therapist, which is a form of physical therapy that works with genetic chains and acknowledges the interconnected nature of the body, just like yoga does. In addition, I also ave a Masters degree in Philosophy, which has given me a platform to explore the depths of yoga philosophy and communicate these teachings effectively to students. I have done short courses in Ayurveda and Yoga therapy in India. I have been a raw vegan educator and chef (although now not 100% raw), a trained Yin Teacher, Tantra Teacher and Kundalini trance Dance
