Teachers

Hello! My name is Carol Murphy and I am the founder and lead trainer with Green Lotus Yoga.
After ten years of teaching Iyengar and Ashtanga classes as my full-time profession, I started Green Lotus Yoga teacher training school in 2006 and have been training yoga teachers from Ireland and internationally ever since.
My love for alignment-based Vinyasa has never wavered. It continues to inspire me to practice and teach this creative, holistic, spiritual, ever-evolving practice. I have trained over 1,000 teachers to date and have taught over 35 Progressive Vinyasa 200-hour Trainings and eight 300-hour Therapeutic trainings.
In addition to my love of Flow, I have always been interested in the holistic and therapeutic side of yoga. In 2017, I trained as a neuromuscular therapist. During this training, I learned a lot about fascia, the nervous system, and general anatomy. I used my new anatomy knowledge to write a book, Align, that connects yoga anatomy and alignment, which has been well-received in the yoga community and I hope to publish later this year. At this time, I also became very interested in Functional Mobility to support my neuromuscular therapy. I worked and trained as an FRC® Mobility Specialist (FRCms). In 2018, I created a 300-hour yoga therapeutic yoga training programme, and I have been teaching it annually ever since. In 2022, I went back to school to do an IAYT 800 hr Yoga Therapy Training with Soul of Yoga in the U.S. This allowed me to deepen my knowledge of Ayurveda, Somatics, Trauma Sensitive Yoga for Mental Health, Yoga for Addiction, iRest for PTSD, Subtle Anatomy, Pranayama, Meditation and more, with world renown Yoga Therapists and medical health experts. Additionally, I have studied Yin Yoga with Josh Summers (and led trainings with Josh), TCM and Women’s Health with Yoga Medicine, Tantra, and Kundalini Trance Dance.
I love to travel. I have trained teachers in London, California, India, South Africa, Morocco, and Spain. Since lockdowns, I have focused my teachings locally in my yoga studio, Yogamoves. However, I am currently in the process of organising more international events. In addition, recognising the importance of accessibility, I have also created my online platform and am dedicated to creating more offerings online, ensuring that everyone can benefit from the practice of yoga.
I love collaborating with other teachers on my trainings and hosting other trainers at Yogamoves. I work exclusively with highly-trained teachers who share the vision of providing exceptional yoga education for people who wish to become yoga teachers and teachers who want to continue developing their yoga journey and offerings.
